Hope you folks had fantastic Diwali and I am back with my new topic . This time its about Lungi .Wikipedia defines lungi as a garment worn around the waist in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Myanmar and the west wonders if thats what is Indian Lungi all about. All of us had grown up around our fathers, uncles and neighbours claded with lungi. Lungi during those days had its own charm and dignity , but over these years when we grew up , Lungi has been termed as unfashionable , poor man's clothing . But even today people in Kerala, Tamilnadu prefer to wear Lungi in all family functions clearly indicating that lungi is still there and wanted. Its also fashionable as recently pantaloon had advertised varieties of lungi with model Mililnd Somen . Guess what Lungi is back and this time west is fascinated about it , guess why - as Lungi is the Indian answer to Usher Raymond . Guess my friends out in US would know who is Usher Raymond.
